To God alone the glory describes the reason behind the ethos of SDG Staffing and its formal company name, SDG Services, LLC.  In the Spring of 2018 National Review Online was reprinting columns from their founder, William F. Buckley, Jr., to commemorate the anniversary of his passing.  The effect WFB had on American conservatism is unmatched.  His writing and demeanor continues to influence American leaders.  In a column, “Happy Birthday Bach,” originally published “in newspapers on March 23, 1985, as a column distributed by the Universal Press Syndicate” and reprinted in NRO on February 26, 2018, while describing the sublime qualities of Bach’s work, he stated that many of Bach’s scores were annotated with “SDG.”  Though this might be common knowledge among classical music aficionados, to me it sounded like a klaxon in reminding me how every good thing is from our Lord and that we should respond in kind, offering all of ourselves back to our Creator in humility and gratitude.  My mind, my body, my piety, my joys, my pains, my contrition, my wealth, my work, everything back to God for His glory.

Take Lord, and receive all my liberty, my memory, my understanding, and my entire will, all that I have and possess. Thou hast given all to me. To Thee, O lord, I return it. All is Thine, dispose of it wholly according to Thy will. Give me Thy love and thy grace, for this is sufficient for me.

With this principle before me, SDG Staffing was formed to continue providing contract management for the air base chapel’s various lay ministry coordinators and to provide honest work at fair wages for the men and women who would serve with me.  Many people work hard for low wages and few benefits, including those who work on U.S. Military bases.  The contracts SDG Staffing manages can possibly help those whose other work pays only enough to get by.  Toward this, SDG Staffing strives to keep costs low by leveraging automation where able and accepting lower profit margins. Thus, SDG Staffing was created to provide dignified work opportunities for American and host nation personnel on U.S. Military bases.  SDG Staffing exists to help others for the glory of God. Hence, the initialism in our company name. Soli Deo Gloria.
